Crochet Patterns Using Lion Brand Yarn

Lion Brand is my go-to yarn for a couple of reasons.  First, I live close to the Lion Brand Outlet located in Carlstadt, NJ.  When I see a Weekly Wow deal I like on the Lion Brand Yarn Outlet page, I make it a point to visit.  Second, I love the colors and textures of their yarn.  One of my new favorites is their Mandala assortment.  In this post, I’ve gathered some of my favorite crochet patterns using Lion Brand Yarn.

1.  Wishing Well Wrap by Sewrella using Mandala

Crochet is one of the ways I destress before bed.  I often make scarves for the kids or my friends.  When I purchased the Mandala yarn at the Lion Brand Outlet, I decided I wanted to make a wrap for myself.  For this wrap, I used one ball each of Spirit and Genie.  I love the neutral grays with the pop of blue.

I used the Wishing Well Wrap crochet pattern by Sewrella.  The Sewrella pattern is easy to follow.  Ashleigh provided great tips on how to create the stripes using Mandala yarn.  She also provided  an easy-to-follow tassel tutorial.  I can’t wait to use my wrap as the weather cools down.

2.  Lion Brand One & Done Swipe Right Cowl Kit

I purchased the One & Done Swipe Right Cowl Kit at the Lion Brand Outlet.  It has quickly become one of my favorite scarves.  I’ve made several versions of this scarf for friends and family using the pattern and different Lion Brand yarns (see projects 3 and 4 below).  Each yarn gives the scarf a slightly different look.

The scarf shown above was made with Cranberry Wool-Ease Thick & Quick.

The scarf and hat shown below were made with Fig Wool-Ease Thick & Quick.

4.  Perfectly Simple Crochet Hat

If you want a hat to match your Swipe Right Cowl, try the Perfectly Simple Crochet Hat Pattern.  You can use Wool-Ease Thick & Quick or Wool-Ease Chunky for this hat.

5.  Child-Sized Cowl using Wool-Ease Chunky Yarn

I couldn’t resist making a smaller version of this scarf for Sofia.  People notice when they see us in our Mommy-and-me matching scarves (Cheesy, I know).  Everyone calls it her Jackie O look.  The scarf is not bulky and keeps her warm.  Unlike traditional scarves, I don’t have to worry about it coming undone.

6.  Fingerless Gloves using Scarfie Yarn

These crochet fingerless gloves are easy to make, functional and cute.  Pick up your favorite bulky yarn in a great color and make a pair for yourself or a friend.

As I discover and try new crochet patterns and Lion Brand yarns, I will share them with you.  Bookmark this page so you can come back to it easily.  If you try one of these patterns, share pictures using #latinamominnyc.
