Color Street Nail Polish Strips

Do you hate chipped nail polished?  When I get a manicure at the nail salon, I have them apply clear nail polish, because my nails tend to chip within a day or two.  My friend Rachel recently invited me to a Facebook party for Color Street nail polish strips.  I decided to give it them a try and ordered two sets of nail polish strips in Charleston Blush (solid polish) and Venetian Masquerade (glitter polish).  I’ve been pleasantly surprised by the quality and durability of the nail polish strips.  This is a problem solver and product that will make your busy life easier.  I suggest you give it a try.

What are Color Street Nail Polish Strips?

Color Street nail polish strips are nail polish in a dry strip form with base coat, color coat and top coat in every strip.  When I opened the package, I was surprised that it smelled like a bottle of nail polish.  The strips are 95% dry so they are flexible and repositionable.

Color Street nail polish strips are made in the USA.  They are developed and manufactured in New Jersey.  I like the idea of supporting a local business.  They are cruelty free and made from the same ingredients as nail polish (a full list of ingredients can be found on the packaging).

What’s Included in Each Set

Each set comes with 16 double-ended strips, 2 nail prep pads and a small nail file.  I recommend that you also have a cuticle pusher and small scissors handy when you’re applying the strips.  The strips are double-ended.  If you have short nails, you can use one strip on two nails.  Keep unused strips in a Ziplock bag to keep them from drying out.

Application and Dry Time

Start by watching these YouTube tutorials.

  1. How to Apply Color Street Nail Strips
  2. Three Ways to Apply Color Street Nail Strips

I’m a visual person so it was helpful to watch someone apply the strips on themselves.  I was able to apply the strips without any issues my first time.  For my crafty Latina Moms, I would say applying the nail strips is like working with a vinyl sticker.  You don’t have to worry about messing up because you can gently pull the strip off your nail and try again.  On average, it took me 20-25 minutes to apply the strips to both hands.

Once you apply the strips, you are ready to go.  There is no dry time.  According to the packaging, it takes 15-30 minutes for the strips to completely set to your nails.  I have to admit my first time I washed dishes within the first 10 minutes of applying the strips without any issues.

How Long Do They Last?

My first set of nail polish strips lasted 8 days.  It never chipped.  It developed a crackle texture after about five days which I liked.  I decided to remove the polish because you could start to see a space between the strip and my cuticle.  According to Color Street, manicures can last up to 14 days.  For an extra seal, apply a thin coat of Flash Dry Clear Top Coat; but I think adding the top coat defeats the purpose of a quick no dry solution.

Price

Each set is $11-$13 which is comparable to a basic manicure at a nail salon.

Removal

Remove Color Street nail strips with nail polish remover.  No soaking or acetone required.  There is a glue-like film as you remove the polish, but it comes off quickly and cleanly.

What I Like about the Color Street Nail Polish Strips
  • Easy Application & Removal:  After watching the YouTube tutorials, I was able to apply the strips with no issues.  They come off quickly with nail polish remover
  • Nail Salon Quality:  My manicure looked great, just like nail polish
  • Chip Resistant:  I went from 1-2 days to 8 days without having to remove the nail polish.  That’s a game changer in my book
  • Prevents Nails from Tearing:  I’ve noticed that my nails have been tearing/breaking less since I’ve been using the nail polish strips.  I mentioned it to the Stylist and she had the same observation.  This is not a product claim endorsed by the manufacturer, but it is a benefit worth noting.
  • Affordable:  The cost is comparable to a basic manicure at a nail salon
  • Convenient:  You can pamper yourself whenever is convenient for you.  You don’t have to worry about waiting at the salon or fitting another errand into your already hectic schedule
  • Assortment:  There is a great selection of colors, textures and patterns to select from without an upcharge
  • Extra Income Opportunity for Moms:  Color Street nail polish strips are only sold through stylists.  If you’ve been looking for extra income opportunities, you can speak to Tracey and Danielle about their experience as Color Street stylists.  For more information, email them at naileditwithteeanddee@yahoo.com.
