7 Ninjago Party Ideas with Free Printables

For his 6th birthday, Lucas requested a Lego Ninjago birthday party.  He’s lucky to have a crafty Mom because you can’t buy Ninjago-themed decorations and favors at your local craft or party stores.  Below are 7 Ninjago party ideas with free printables I made for his party.  The big smile on his face when he saw it all come together made my day.

Update:  Ninjago has become more popular since this post was published.  Ninjago party supplies are available online and at select retailers.  Use my craft ideas to personalize your party.

Amazon and Oriental Trading have the best selection of Lego and ninja-themed decorations, treats, favor boxes and stuffers which coordinate with the Ninjago theme.

Project 1:  Ninjago Invitation

The party invitation was my first project.  Halegrafx has a great PDF form which I used to make paper and digital invitations for family and friends.  With the invitation done, it was time to think about the decorations and favors.

Project 2:  Ninjago Balloon Centerpiece

The ninja balloon centerpiece is one of my favorite decorations.  I ordered a mini tabletop balloon column from The Party Box in Lodi, NJ and added the ninja face using decoupage.  The ladies at The Party Box were nice enough to add a balloon ninja sword to my order at no cost.  To make, download the PDF – Ninjago Ninja Faces – and print onto regular paper.  Cut out and glue onto balloon using decoupage.

Update:  Unfortunately, The Party Box store has closed so I removed the link to their web site.  I will miss getting my balloon centerpieces from them.

Projects 3 & 4:  Ninja Star Piñata and Treat Bucket

No party is complete in my house without a piñata.  I made a ninja star piñata to fit the theme of the party.  The red foil star piñata in the above image is from Party City.  For this project, I used the PDF – Ninjago Ninja Faces – printed the artwork onto regular paper, cut out, and glued it onto the piñata using decoupage.

While at Party City, I found blue buckets which I filled with chips and cookies.  For this project, I used double-sided tape to affix the ninja face to the bucket so I can reuse it for my next party.

Project 5:  Ninjago Lollipops

I ordered the lego brick lollipops online and applied the Ninjago lollipop wrappers.  To make the wrappers, download the PDF – Ninjago Lollipop Wrappers – print onto regular paper, cut out, and tape onto the lollipops.  I displayed them on a tiered lollipop stand.

Ninjago Favors

Project 6:  Ninjago Favor Boxes

For this party, I made different favor boxes for the boys and girls.  Below is a list of the items I included in each.

The girl favor boxes included:

The boy favor boxes included:

The favor boxes are sold in assorted colors.  Each set contains four colors – red, green, blue and yellow.  I added the Ninjago faces onto the boxes by making stickers.  To make the stickers, download the PDF – Ninjago Favor Boxes – print onto regular paper and run the page through a Xyron machine, or print onto sticker paper sheets.  Cut out the stickers, and apply onto the box.  Tip:  I find that it’s easier to apply the sticker when the box is flat/closed.

Project 7:  Ninjago Birthday Banner

This was one of the easier projects.  First, I printed the banner PDFs from Over the Big Moon onto card stock and cut them out.  Then, I used my Martha Stewart Crafts Screw Punch to punch holes in each of the upper corners and strung baker’s twine through the holes to connect the pieces.  I customized the banner with Lucas’ name and the number 6 using alphabet stickers from Michaels.

These print-and-cut projects are pretty simple, but they will add a custom touch to your Ninjago party.  Please share and tag your pictures with #latinamominnyc. I can’t wait to see your Ninjago decorations.

Happy Crafting!

Jackie

[…] Pinatas are a must at Landaeta birthday parties.  I purchased the flower pinata from Michaels.  I printed the same images of Maya and Willy from the balloon centerpiece onto card stock.  Then, I affixed them to the pinata with Mod Podge.  Creating a custom pinata to fit your theme is easy.  Just think about a shape that fits your theme and apply characters to tie them together.  See another example of a custom pinata I made for Lucas’ Ninjago birthday.
