Decorate A Playhouse with Ikea & Dollar Tree Finds
Lucas and Sofia love playing in the backyard. This summer, we cut down a couple of trees on the side of the house and decided to get them a Step2 Sweetheart Playhouse. The playhouse is big enough for the two of them and was pretty easy to assemble. I couldn’t resist decorating the playhouse with Ikea and Dollar Tree finds.
Sofia likes to have tea parties so we needed some seating. I got two pink Utter stools from Ikea (see lower left image). They stack and can be hosed down if they get dirty. They come in four colors and were only $3.50 each.
To store her teapot, cups and other accessories, I got a basket from Dollar Tree. To keep it off the floor, I hung the basket from a Command hook (see lower right image).
Finally, we needed some curb appeal – can you tell I watch a little too much HGTV? I purchased small floral foam squares and silk flowers from Dollar Tree. I placed the foam squares in the window box and inserted the flower stems into the foam. I cut the flowers down so the kids could still look through the window (see upper right image).
I spent less than $15 on the supplies. This was a fun summer Friday project with the kids. It’s very girlie but Lucas doesn’t seem to mind. They enjoy hanging out in their outdoor play space.
