About Me
Hola! Hello!
Let me introduce myself. I’m Jackie Landaeta – a Puerto Rican-Dominican mother of two smart and sassy Latino children (Lucas 6, Sofia 4). I was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY in a Latino community surrounded by family.
I learned to crochet from my mother at an early age and always felt a sense of accomplishment when I finished a project. I had the privilege of working with Martha Stewart for 14 years where I honed my crafting and cooking skills. I had the opportunity to work with really creative, crafty people, and to learn skills which I’ve come to love, including sewing and knitting.
I enjoy crafting, cooking and entertaining. I look up recipes and think of ways I can tweak them to my taste and time constraints. I’ve also started gathering my favorite family recipes so I can prepare and pass them down to my children. My husband and I make it a priority to have dinner with the kids every night – home cooked or take out doesn’t really matter. Lucas likes to help me – seasoning the meat, gathering ingredients and setting the table. For his kindergarten 2017 goal, he said he wanted to learn to cook. We are slowly working toward his goal.
